New Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV Revealed Ahead of Dubai Motor Show

Some of you may remember back in October 2011, GM released a shadowy picture of the new Chevrolet Trailblazer. The Trailblazer is a mid-size SUV built off the new Chevrolet Colorado. It will begin production in global market starting with Thailand in 2012. Soon to be shown at the Dubai Motor show the Trailblazer has gotten smaller then the former one and seems to look a bit better.

Let's start out with looks. The light's, bumper, and alloys and other trim pieces inside are for show, they won't be on the car that will be sold. If you take a good look at it you'll notice it looks a bit like the Mercedes M-class. The Trailblazer has the same bow tie design for the logo on the grill as all current Chevy's have. It doesn't look bad, the bow tie.

Under the Trailblazer it isn't a Ford Explorer. The Explorer is on the Ford Taurus platform, the Trailblazer is built off the new Chevrolet Colorado. So it's a body on frame vehicle. This means the Trailblazer will have more off-road ability and towing capability, but it reduces on-road comfort and handling.

The Trailblazer is starting to sound like a Dodge Durango competitor. The Durango having more pickup truck quality then any other car in it's class put's it way ahead the the Explorer, Equinox, Traverse. The Trailblazer is coming in to fill that spot for GM. Unlike the Durango though the Trailblazer being a body on frame car it will have better off road capability. Looks though, well it all depends on if you like muscle styling(Durango) or European Styling(Trailblazer).

We're short on details on the Trailblazer though. We do know that it will have similar engines to the Colorado, with the exception of one or 2 new ones.

GM has not yet announced if the Trailblazer is going to be sold in the US yet but, As the Colorado is being built in the US there's a good chance of the Trailblazer coming to join in as it's SUV counter-part.
