Said it before, i'll say it again, I'm a big fan of muscle cars, but not really the Mustang.
So here's the new Mustang. Sadly it's just a refresh to the current model. On the exterior front not much has changed. It does look more aggressive I'll give it that. Other wise there's a new grill (all models), front end splitter, working hood extractors on the GT model, body colored rocker panels, new tail lamps and a glossy Mustang logo.
On to the boring complicated stuff, The standard headlights use HID (high intensity discharge) with LED's. Doesn't really sound muscly... but okay. Also in the rear the Mustang get's the iconic 3 bar design.
The interior hasn't exactly changed much. The biggest change is a 4.2in LCD screen operated via steering wheel mounted 5-way button. Why couldn't they just have a touch screen?
Under the hood the classic Muscle car 5.0 V8 has been changed! It now makes 420hp! The engineers at Ford learned a think or two from the Boss 302 I see. The new Mustang also has "SelectShift 6 speed automatic transmission" which allows the driver to shift gears manually on a button on the side of the shifter and won't up shift until it reaches the Rev limiter. Why not just get a manual if you want to shift it yourself? I ask myself questions like this a lot.
The 2013 Ford Mustang will make it's Motor Show debut at the LA auto show this week and reach US showrooms in Spring 2012.
